Why I started Wells247
I have watched too many people in this country work hard all day and still go home with little. A driver sits in traffic from morning till night, and a big part of every fare is gone before he sees it. A woman cooks the best food on her street, but nobody beyond her street knows. A young man with a bicycle wants honest work, and no door opens for him.
I started Wells247 because I believe a platform should favour the people who use it, not take from them.
So drivers pay no commission. They buy a small flat pass on the days they work, and every naira they earn after that is theirs. When they want their money, they get it the same hour. Sellers open their shops for free and pay us nothing on their sales. Customers name their own price for rides and errands, and see a flat delivery fee before they pay.
You may ask how we will make money. We will sell simple, low-cost adverts to businesses, kept away from your payment and safety screens, and we will never give your personal details to advertisers. That is enough for us. I want prices to stay low for everybody.
Wells247 is meant to connect everyone. The person who needs a ride, the one who needs something bought, the trader, the restaurant, the keke man, the bike man, the student with a bicycle. Everybody gets a way to work and earn. Everybody is involved. This is by Nigerians, for Nigerians.
We are starting in Lagos and Asaba. Come and build it with us.
